Earlier in my career, I worked for NYC-based global advertising agencies for about 17 years as an Art Director. This was my childhood dream as a young girl from Tokyo, and I dedicated my all to not only achieve it but also sustain it.
I had always identified myself as determined, passionate and confident. But buried in an endless pile of to-dos, should-dos, and must-dos at work, I lost sight of who I was and what mattered to me. Even though I was supposed to be living my childhood dream, I felt like I was swimming aimlessly in the middle of the vast ocean, trying not to drown without being able to see the shore. And complaining about any of it felt like major
Although I neither liked the person I was becoming nor the direction my life was headed in, I stayed and pushed through in my corporate life – because that was the only thing I knew and I was afraid of losing everything by making the wrong choice. I had a hard time visualizing what it was that I wanted, and every idea seemed impossible or unrealistic. Starting over felt like a deadly project.
During this time of feeling lost and exhausted, my dear friend Michelle Shinagawa suggested that I take her Reiki 1 class to regain trust and confidence in myself. Her thorough Reiki program shed light on a whole new side of me that had always existed somewhere deep inside but was never fully explored. Through self-care and receiving Reiki treatments, I began to feel myself shift naturally. I started shedding layers of ineffective self-protective armors that piled up over the years. My fear didn’t grip me so tightly anymore. Things that felt impossible no longer felt that way. Instead, I got excited about what I could create for myself.
Of course, the transformation didn’t happen overnight; it’s a life-long process through many ugly cries and feeling like a hot mess. Regardless, practicing Reiki has been a
Now I have a vision. I want to see a world where every person who craves to create a positive impact do exactly that, instead of wishing they were. I’m here to help you break free of self-limiting thoughts and patterns and be present and kind to yourself. I work with current and future mission-based entrepreneurs and small business owners to reconnect to what it is that matters to them and get out of their own way so they can use their strength and talent to help make this world a better place.
“REIKIREI” is a blend word that can be interpreted two ways – Reiki/Rei and Rei/Kirei (means beautiful in Japanese). I want to help you rediscover light and possibilities within you and beyond, as my teachers and mentors have done for me. I find this chain of connections and the ripple effects profoundly beautiful. We’re in this together, and I look forward to helping you reignite your light.
